The Accomplished Squirrel

Doesn't this squirrel look triumphant? He's king of the tree stump. :0)

That's how I feel now. I finished my last midterm this side of spring break this afternoon, and although I have one day of class left tomorrow, it's safe to say my brain has effectively checked out.

Regardless, there is calculus to be done, and I'm afraid that's what my evening will be comprised of.

It's things like this that make me momentarily wish for the life of a squirrel in lieu of life as a college student. If I were a squirrel, I would have no responsibility, and I wouldn't have to deal with collegiate things. Like a communal bathroom that someone has decided to use as a smoking lounge. Or stairwells that my peers seem to have designated as a garbage can.

Was this post utterly devoid of substance? Yes. Yes it was.

Did it create a 10 minute delay between me and my calculus homework? Yes. Yes it did.

Posts of substance will return when (if) my brain ever returns.

Fun Friday (Not Like Elementary School)

This morning started with a chai tea latte and chocolate croissant at the Green Line Cafe...

with my lovely friend, Lara, who is heading home to Germany...

and who also made me this beautiful dish in her pottery class.
Obviously, I had a pretty good morning.  :0)

And to top it off, I have these goodies to keep me company while I study for midterms this weekend. If I have to study, there's no better company than 1040 calories worth of Samoas (I refuse to call them Caramel deLites) and Josh Groban.

Happy Friday, everyone!

You Know You're a Nerd When...

You know you're a nerd when your definition of an impulse buy is the complete collection of poems and stories by Edgar Allen Poe (it was on SALE)...

Or when you haven't been able to bring yourself to buy the last book of a really cute series because they changed publishers, and the cover doesn't match the first three books...

Or when to remedy the situation, you seriously reconsider (if only for a moment) the possibility of repurchasing the other three with the covers by the new publisher because it would somehow bring balance to your (extremely) delicate universe... but then you realize you can't afford that because you're a college student.

In the Words of Rebecca Black...

via morning's light

Wow! Tonight's been busy. A midterm; full day of class; dinner and prayer with my sisters in Christ; and two hours of powering through my open blog design orders. My shop has been booming this past couple of weeks, which is such a blessing.

I've gotten tons done (or at least I feel like I have). Now it's time to wash up, and watch the season premiere of Community. It's going to be cool, cool, cool. I've been waiting to watch it since October, and then they pushed it all the way up to February. Finally, the wait has ended.

Oh! And random side note, I have so far fulfilled my new year's resolution to read the whole Bible in a year. I have been good and followed the schedule every single day (okay... sometimes I've skipped days and had to catch up later). BUT, the point is, I'm on schedule. Reading the Bible every night before bed has been a really good reminder to trust in God's plan as I reflect on what happened in my day and anticipate what will happen the next. It's a really nice way to unwind, and totally worth setting aside 20 minutes a day for. I highly recommend it.

Random side note done. I hope everyone has a happy Friday night!

Busy, Busy, Busy

So far, this weekend has been busy, but not in the normal "busy" way. In fact, I haven't left my dorm since I went to the doctor on Friday and found out I had strep and bronchitis. This is the second time I've been pretty sick this school year, and it stinks. I think coming from Alaska, my immune system has been overloaded since coming to Philly. After all, Alaska is probably one of the cleanest places on earth, and then suddenly, I'm in this city that isn't exactly known for its cleanliness.

Anyway, I've basically just been sleeping, eating, catching up on homework (SO much work...), and working on a few blog designs. I'm not quite done with the two above yet, but we're getting there. These blogs are awesome though. You should go check them out. Aubrey and Chrissy are really great. :0)
